About...
I'm a computer consultant and freelance writer. My interest in antiques is related to my fondness for history and culture.
My mother, who passed away a couple of years ago, owned a vast amount of antiques and taught me much of what I know about antiques, classic vintage fashion and all the finery and tradition that goes along with Southern hospitality. The establishment of this businesss is one way of keeping my mother's memory alive.
On my mother's side of the family, we're Creole and I can trace my roots back to 1210 France - to the Huguenots. So, not surprisingly, many of my favorite antiques and vintage items are of French, Creole or Cajun origins. That particular lineage dates back to France and then Georgia. After living in Georgia for a while, my ancestors forged westward eventually settling in New Orleans and Shreveport. Because it was rumored that there was cheap land in Texas, some crossed the border into East Texas.
I am also in possession of a number of Native American items, as we also have Navajo and Choctaw Indian blood.
